AS-Interface represents a cost-effective and flexible solution for the WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM 750. Within one I/O node, inputs and outputs can be merged both directly and by means of an AS-Interface level in a network, e.g. Ethernet or PROFIBUS. The first product of the WAGO AS-interface programme is a master. A/B slaves in different combinations will follow.

All components will comply with Version 2.1 of the AS-i specification. The concept represents a very compact design and is characterised by very low system costs. The master fits into a 12 mm wide housing and is integrated into the fieldbus node like a normal I/O module.

The user can provide additional AS-i functions to a fieldbus node, without foregoing the direct connection of inputs and outputs to a superordinate fieldbus, e.g. PROFIBUS, DeviceNet or ETHERNET. Thus inputs and outputs can be bundled together extremely inexpensively by means of AS-i and at the same time special functions, like serial interfaces, can be integrated.


All connections to the module, including the AS-interface connection, the actuator supply connection, and connections to the I/O, are made via separate WAGO MULTI CONNECTION (MCS) pluggable terminal blocks.


The AS-interface flat network cable passes through the module, making a direct network connection. The module provides a short circuit proof sensor supply.
